Your challenge
Cloud and IoT development is changing the way we see the world and we are now looking for a Backend Cloud Developer that is used to advise customers on technical challenges and deliver high-quality products and services. For that, we like you to be a specialist within your area and have experience in designing and implementing modern Cloud solutions. When applicable you will be part of presales in the projects and assignments such as writing offers and presentations.

Depending on the customer, project, and your own interest, the technical challenges at Avalon can span the entire lifecycle of system development, from understanding requirements to testing and quality assurance. In several of our projects, you are mainly located at our customers who operate in many different industries and segments. No matter what projects you end up in, you will work under conditions that support your individual growth by giving you challenging tasks to solve.

Who you are
We believe that you have a genuine interest in technology and innovation. To succeed in this role we believe that you have a relevant academic education in Computer Science or similar and a couple of years experience as a Backend Cloud Developer with a history of work in backend languages. You are a quick learner and well updated on modern frameworks and methods. You see great value in sharing your skills and collaborating with others like a true teamplayer. You know how to clearly communicate and visualize your thoughts and ideas for the customers and have professional experience with working in agile teams. You also have good knowledge of different kinds of databases, when to use them and their limitations.

The following is our wishlist and we would enjoy hearing from candidates with more, less, or different experience, provided that you can demonstrate your skill set in a good way.

A valid Swedish work permit and you are able to work in Stockholm
Knowledge about functional and reactive programming
Hands-on experience with Cloud technologies like AWS, GCP or Azure
Solid experience in designing and developing API:s like REST or GQL
Experience and good understanding of microservice architecture principles and use cases
Modern CI/CD setups
Containerisation and container management
