At GeoGuessr we do more than create games, since 2013, we have crafted a game that turns the world into a playground for the curious and knowledge-hungry. During the last couple of years we have focused on building an incredible team, now just over 60 people, and craft new ways for our dedicated players to experience our fantastic geography games. GeoGuessr is widely played all around the world and have a large and dedicated community.The roleWe're looking for a backend developer to join our tech organisation. You will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for delivering our new mobile game. The team consists of five Unity developers, a PO and three designers, all working together. At this stage we need to focus on implementing a backend solution. We are looking for someone who thrives in this highly explorative and fast-paced stage. We currently have an existing backend environment for the rest of the product, which we plan to use for our new game as well. This means you’ll collaborate with the rest of the organization when making adjustments. Although your main focus will be creating a backend solution for the game, you need to share our big-picture mindset and willingness to work on whatever is necessary to keep product development moving at the desired pace.What we hope you’ll bring:<ul><li>Min 5 years of experience with C#, in various projects.</li><li>Broad experience from different databases (Redis, MongoDB, Dynamo)</li><li>Experience implementing APIs and understands the challenges of compatibility and version management with clients that cannot be updated.</li><li>Familiarity with modern development concepts like CI/CD, testing, etc.</li><li>Experience from working with modern web technologies in modern companies.</li></ul><ul><li>A "doer" mentality, unafraid of taking ownership of backend implementation.</li><li>Sense of when it's applicable for short-cuts, and when one needs to build a long-term solution.</li><li>A university degree in computer science * </li></ul>It's extra nice if you bring:<ul><li>Experience from mobile games</li><li>Unity experience </li></ul>Wait, there's more!We're offering a package of perks to keep you charged up and ready to create wonders:<ul><li>Daily breakfast and lunch at the office.</li><li>6 weeks of vacation + 3 extra days off, for a well-deserved rest.</li><li>Pension and insurance as per ITP1 guidelines.</li><li>50,000 SEK education benefit.</li><li>5,000 SEK wellness allowance.</li><li>A high energy and very much alive office.</li></ul>We encourage exercise during working hours.
